Multi-directional Scarves
Multi-directional knitting comes in many forms. The newest form, popularized
by Iris Schreier of Artyarns, uses a
single continuous length of yarn. As a result, it's ideally suited for turning
variegated yarns into striking scarves.
In this class, you'll see how increases and decreases let you knit
in multiple directions, creating stripes that run at 90 degress to
each other. You'll try basic techniques on samples...
...and see how to combine these techniques, using simple sketches to
design a variety of scarves.
Need yarn? Iris has
a
lovely selection. So does Tina Newton of
Blue Moon Fiber Arts--the
samples above are knit with Kidmo and Socks That Rock.
